In Scalev, you can add a custom subdomain and main custom domain at the same time. For example:
  • My main domain: elkareem.store
  • I want to use a subdomain of elkareem.store: lapak.elkareem.store
That’s possible. Before getting into the steps, note that the verification process takes between 5 minutes and 2×24 hours for your subdomain to become active. Here are the steps to add a subdomain to Scalev.

#1. Add the subdomain to Scalev

  • Go to the Settings menu.
  • Click Domain.
  • Click + Add Domain.

  • Enter the subdomain you want.
  • Click Save.

For example, if your main domain is elkareem.store and you want to add “cart” in front, enter cart.elkareem.store into Scalev.
  • A list of DNS records will appear:

#2. Add Scalev’s DNS records to Cloudflare / your DNS Manager.*

*We require you to use a DNS manager that supports CNAME, such as Cloudflare.
  • Open Cloudflare.
  • Select the domain to integrate.
  • Click DNS.
  • Click Add Record

  • Enter the CNAME DNS type from Scalev into Cloudflare
  • Follow the steps shown in this image:

  • Click Save.
*Make sure to set the proxy status to DNS only.
If there are extra spaces or line breaks when pasting the name & target, delete them.
  • Add the first TXT DNS record.
  • Follow the steps shown in this image:

  • Click Save.
*Make sure the TTL is set to Auto.

  • Add the second TXT DNS record.
  • Follow the steps shown in this image:

  • Click Save.
*Make sure the TTL is set to Auto.

#3. Wait for the subdomain to be verified.

  • Go back to Scalev.
  • Click the verify button.

#FAQ

Can I use a custom subdomain with the Scalev Free plan? Sorry, to use a custom domain or custom subdomain, you need to be on at least the Scalev Lite plan. More details at: https://home.scalev.id/plan What if I don’t have Cloudflare? You can sign up for Cloudflare first. Use the FREE plan. Tutorial at: https://tutorial.scalev.id/cloudflare/ How long does the custom subdomain verification take? Verification takes between 5 minutes and 2×24 hours — please refresh Scalev periodically. What if the first TXT DNS target doesn’t appear in Scalev? Just add the CNAME DNS type and the second TXT DNS type to your DNS manager/Cloudflare. Then wait 5 minutes to 2×24 hours. IMPORTANT: The status might show inactive, but your custom subdomain may still be accessible. Test it by: Example: If it loads, your custom subdomain is already active in Scalev. Can I use a DNS Manager other than Cloudflare? Yes, However, we strongly recommend using Cloudflare. Or a DNS manager that supports DNS type CNAME. This helps speed up your subdomain verification.
