When you build a landing page in Scalev, the default settings are already optimized for speed. Still fast without advanced configuration. So you don’t have to fuss with various settings that might confuse you. But if you want to make sure the speed stays consistently fast and stable above 90+ when you test on PageSpeed, you must follow this tutorial religiously. The landing page test shown above uses the default Scalev template without any custom settings.Documentation Index

Use the Sales Page or Blank Page template
To build a landing page with the Sales Page template from Scalev, follow these steps. 1. Go to the Scalev dashboard then click the Landing Page menu 2. Click the Add Landing Page button and the Scalev template options will appear 3. Choose the Sales Page template You can also choose Blank Page to build a landing page from scratch (empty). After that, you’re free to design with that landing page template. When you’ve finished designing the landing page, before publishing you need to double-check the following settings: 4. On the Design tab in Landing Page Studio, make sure the Font setting uses System Default. 5. Then on the settings tab in Landing Page Studio, make sure the Speed Boost feature on “Disable Custom Font” is set to ACTIVE (toggle is blue) Make sure the very first / topmost image on your landing page uses Loading Type: Direct, here’s how: 6. In the Landing Page Studio editor, find the image component placed at the very top / first, then click the gear icon 7. The next dialog will appear; choose Loading Type: Direct 8. Make sure every font you use in each Text component uses System Default. 9. Click the Save button Apply this Direct loading-type setting ONLY to the topmost image that appears first. The technical term is Above The Fold. So the image that first appears when opening the landing page without scrolling down is the one that must be set to Loading Type: Direct. You can configure more than one image if more than one appears at first. For all other images that appear after scrolling down, set the image component’s Loading Type to: Lazy Loading. Apply this setting to other images (if any) below the Above The Fold, around the middle to the bottom of the landing page.Optimize Image/Photo Size
Image or photo assets uploaded to Scalev’s Landing Page Studio are also automatically optimized on-the-fly (the image is optimized as it’s uploaded). But it’s strongly recommended to optimize the original image size to make it lighter while maintaining visual quality. So when uploaded to Scalev the image becomes even more optimal. To optimize your images, follow these steps: 1. Open the image compressor website Optimizilla → click here 2. Click the Upload Files button or drag images into the upload area (you can upload more than one image)
3. After upload and the compression process is done, click the Download button.
Example of image optimization based on the image above:
- Original size: 220 KB
- Optimized size: 62 KB
Recommended Image Dimensions
So the page loads more smoothly, it’s recommended to use image dimensions suitable for mobile users (mobile-first). Recommended dimensions:- Width = max 585px
- Height = max 640px
- Size = approximately 200kb
Common Mistakes
1. Wrong Loading Type setting on images, namely: ❌ Image in the Above The Fold area set to Lazy Loading❌ Image in the Below The Fold area set to Direct To understand the difference between Above The Fold and Below The Fold, look at the image below: The area shaded in blue is Above The Fold. This is the view first loaded and seen by the visitor. If your landing page has an image in the Above The Fold area, that image’s loading type must be set to Direct. Don’t get it backwards. Then the visitor scrolls down your landing page… That’s where the visitor enters the Below The Fold area. Set the loading type of images in the Below The Fold area to Lazy Loading. Don’t get this one backwards either. 2. Wrong Speed Boost settings ❌ Turning on the “Disable Custom Font” toggle but the font setting on the Design tab uses Custom Font ✅ The correct setup is the “Disable Custom Font” toggle on AND the font setting on the Design tab must use System Default 3. Forgetting to set the font on Text components to System Default Because the default font used in Text components or other components containing text in LPS is Page Font. So please double-check and make sure you’re using System Font.
Summary
To summarize all the optimization steps above:- Choose the default Scalev landing page template, namely the Sales Page template
- Edit that landing page to your needs
- Set the font to System Default on the LP Design tab
- Configure image components to use Loading Type Direct on the LP Settings tab
- Compress image sizes using Optimizilla
- Place the optimized images into image components on the LP
- Use System Font on every Text component
