Cleanshot 2025 11 04 at 09.35.51 Above is the number of Scalev users at the time this was written. What I want to share here is the conclusion from teaching that many people about custom domains. There are 2 types of people when setting up a custom domain:
  1. Type 1: I’ll do it my own way.
  2. Type 2: OK, I’ll follow the tutorial exactly.
If you’re the first type (setting up without following my order), don’t complain if your domain takes forever to connect to Scalev. Don’t be surprised if it errors. If you’re the second type (following exactly), here’s the tutorial order you must follow: WARNING:
  1. Only buy a Domain from a third-party domain provider, without buying Hosting — use Scalev’s hosting.
  2. REQUIRED to use Cloudflare.
Without Cloudflare, your domain will most likely fail to integrate with Scalev.
  1. Move DNS management for your domain from your domain registrar to Cloudflare! ← Follow this. Don’t try managing it directly in your domain provider’s DNS manager.
  2. Add your custom domain to your Scalev account.
  3. How to open your landing page in Scalev via your custom domain.
